Everygirl wants to stand out && be the light of the scene exspecially: Highschool Girls. So I have put together some information for teens girls who will be starting their first day in highschool this fall. To help them decide on that perfect outfit for that first day back to school; getting the look for a cheaper price and exactly what you need to stand out in the crowd.
FRESHMAN:
THE BUDGET
First let's start off with a budget, now seriously come on you seriously shouldn't be buying $300.00 worth of clothing if your an Sophomore in high school or if your moving from the 7th to the 8th grade. I mean honestly your not going to be growing anytime sooner between then. So $300.00 worth of clothes is worthless, unless your shopping from Michael Kors catalog I mean well of course its acceptable then.
The name says it all when you enter your first year in highschool you want to be (FRESH) with new clothes and a new and improved personality && obviously your going to be doing some serious changing over the summer so its acceptable to spend a reasonable amount on clothing ($180-$275).
LETS TALK BARGAINS!
Now don't get too excited with that amount of money and go crazy in Hollister. There's absolutely nothing wrong with shopping in the bargain bins. Because most of the time they have the same name brand stuff for a way cheaper price then it is. I remember I found this Ralph Lauren shirt that was originally $78.00 at Dillards && for $23.97 at Ross. Yep it was the only one and it was just my size!!!. Talk about Good Luck.
So don't go directly for the name brand stuff when shopping, you can always have a mix and match. Have some name brand and some not. I mean they'll never know that Abercrombie didn't make those jeans your wearing with that American Eagle shirt ... that is , unless you tell them.
BEING YOU
Since your going to be a freshman you want to get something that is you. Don't get that high waisted skirt if your a tomboy that like to do cartwheels! ;) Remember that highschool is that really BIG chance you have been waiting for to EXPRESS YOURSELF. Don't get those bangs just because your other three best friends are doing it. Besides you don't want to blend in ; you want to stand OUT!
IT'S NOT THAT CUTE BUT HEY IT'S AEROPOSTALE && IT'S CHEAP
Now yes, I know I said it bargain shopping is ok. But just because it got that $7.00 sales ticket on it doesn't mean anything. If it isn't you don't get it.It's bad when you shop for bargains AND end up coming out the store looking like you did. So when shopping for clothes get something you will wear. I can't stress enough how many times I see most pre-freshmen grab anything they can get and are so anxious about getting rid of that Junior High wardrobe, that they don't even pay attention to the fact that they just grabbed that blue and purple v-neck that was out of style before you even entered in Junior High. (yuck times 2).
HEY I CAN STILL FIT THAT MINI..GIMMIE!
Still got that mini skirt in the back of the closet that you weren't allowed to wear in Junior High but you can in Highschool? Don't throw it away! Before you go on your shopping spree you should take all of those clothes out your closet and separate them. The fitting and non fitting. Make a list of what you need, so you don't over buy. Trust me during these hard economic times that list will come in handy and help save money. Also, you can give away the old and non fitting to charity. Or if those favorite jeans of yours is still fashionable, fitting but are high waters ( D.I.Y. ) it and make them Capri's or another skirt. Here's a link to a good site on D.I.Y.ing. Now you don't have to buy another pair of bottoms you can wear your recycled one's (Yay!!).

CLOTHING ( WEAR IT DON'T SHOW IT)
Now that I think we've covered the steps to buying lets talk about wearing.
Have you ever sat down and that cute little shirt just kept rising showing off that excess skin?
Trust me I have and I know I'm not the only one.
When your choosing your shirts for school, always try them on and I know this will sound funny but, it actually works, bend over and touch your toes with the shirt your trying on. Look in the mirror and see if more skin then you want is showing. Now half of that skin is going to be showing when your sitting down in during class. Don't like it? See if you can find another in your size that is a little bit longer. If you can't you can always buy a Cami that comes down under it or a t-shirt you can tuck in up under to keep that skin hidden and... those granny panties lol. Just kidding ( =] )
Some girls are blessed with more breast then others but that doesn't mean you have to show it too the world..if you don't want to.
Are you that girl that every time you walk in the hallway at school your constantly pulling up that low-cut top, to prevent that dress code violation?
Well I was at some point and believe me it isn't cute or comfortable. But I'm here to let you know there is an ANSWER to prevent these uncomfortable pullings. When your shopping for your tops always wear that perfect bra , you know the one that hold those sisters up, keep them in place, and that is the right size. Most of the times we teens don't wear the right bra when shopping we decide on the comfy sports bra that makes everything look just fine, even when it isn't. But wearing the perfect bra when trying on clothes will help you choose that perfect top that doesn't falls down slowly everytime you move, showing those goodies.
Ahh man it isn't the top it's the bottoms!
From my highschool experience I've learned that a belt makes everything look 100% better, and it keeps those super low cut from showing that little slit on your bottom =). It's a guarantee that nothing that you don't want to show will be shown. So add that little simple accessory to your outfit to prevent from having to constantly pull down that shirt that rises when sit && shows off what you've been blessed with. Besides no one wants to see that. (Lol)
WHAT'S IN!
Yes, Madonna is still living and she was one of the fashion Icons of the 80's! It's all about retro this Fall.
Ok, so I've been searching for the latest fashion trends for 2009 this fall. && here are somethings I've found for the girls who love fashion.
PLAID: They are really serious about bringing back the 80's and ask your parents plaid was BIG in the 80's. So grab a pair of dark wash skinnies, a button down plaid top and a cute pair of flats. And your off to school with your vintage inspired look. This will really be nice on the fast maturing freshman. Check out these from Wetseal for under 20.00 && Abercrombie for 70.00-more && Hollister!!
Wetseal ($15.00-20.00)
Abercromie && Fitch ($70.00+)
Hollister ($39.00+)
SCREEN TEES: Just want to show the world your loud and proud? Well screen tees are popular among teens this fall and they are one of the many ways to express your self. With bright writing and cute little quotes they are sure to show what you like or.. exactly what your thinking take a look at these they are fab.
&& Many more. And guess what you can get these right from
WETSEAL a popular store for teens known for their cheap prices and fantastic style. Also, all of them are under
$15.00 some are even buy one get one 50% with the original price being 9.99 gosh cute shirts for just almost
$12.00! Now I call that a deal.
SKINNY JEANS:
Weather they are destroyed are acid wash skinny jeans are in. You can wear them with almost any top and any type of shoes. Most teens decide on the vans or the flats which are popular among teen girls. Here is some pricing from Hollister, Aerpostale, and Jcpenny.Look below these are from JcPenny:
Hollister ($49.00+)
Aeropostale (starting at $40.00+)
A&&F ($79.00-$90.00)
JCPenny ($ 14.00 -$50.00)
&& JcPenny have even more variety of colors and styles. You can even wear to trends at once with their red plaid skinnies! Can you say Cool!
VANS;CONVERSE;AIRWALK;FLATS;GLADIATORS:
Now for the kicks. A lot of different trends are popular for teens footwork. It all depends on your outfit or your personality. But The main one's that are big right now are: Vans, Converse, Airwalk (Look for cheaper price), Flats, and Gladiators. I personally like the latter. But here are some links too their sites to check out the prices and the many many different styles. (You can even design your own on Converse, VANS, && Airwalk.
NOTE: You can always visit payless to get them alot cheaper though they always have a huge buy one get one half off sale!
ACCESSORIES: No outfit is complete without an accessory IDC if its just a necklace it brings attention to you no matter what. When you have finally got that perfect top to go great with those bottoms and shoes its time to add on the extra. Here is a list of access. you can add to complete the look.
Necklace
Bracelets
Big Rings
Earrings (Bigger then studs please!)Belt
Flower bow (Vintage)
Ankle bracelet
Remember where-ever you add that accessory that's where the eyes will wonder. And trust me boys are as attracted to shiny things as much as we are. So don't get that long silver necklace that wraps around you scar-filled neckline. Yeah that isn't very attractive.
HEELS! HEELS! HEELS!
Now I know some of us girls love our heels. && Trust me theres no problem with that. But maybe the first few days of school isn't quite the time to show your perfect balance in them though. On the first few days of school I recommend that you don't wear heels! No matter how good you are in them. No matter what heels always seem to say(Dressy, or Sexy) and dressy and sexy are not a requirement for the first day of school. It make it seem like your trying too hard in my opinion. And trying too hard is the wrong type of standing out! It'll probably bring you a bad rep. like "Miss Conceited" or "She think she's all that!" and we don't want that to be our first impression. Besides you should wait until your use to your classes and is quick enough to get to them on time in the FLATS! You don't want to be rushing and all of a sudden fall flat on your face on the first day of school? && all because you was trying to prevent getting caught by the bell.!
You can pick up accessories from any store. They don't have to pricey I mean I honestly wouldn't pay $15.00 for a necklace that isn't sterling silver myself.
